The AYJ says thank you and farewell to Pippa Goodfellow

This week the AYJ says goodbye to Pippa Goodfellow, who has been the AYJ’s Chief Executive for the past five years.

Lesley Tregear, Chair of the Alliance for Youth Justice said:

Pippa joined us as our first Chief Executive in 2019 when we were the ‘Standing Committee for Youth Justice’ and she quickly identified that a strategic review and new image were required in order to support the development of the organisation. Pippa worked with members and the board to create the Alliance for Youth Justice (AYJ), growing the membership and developing our work with stakeholders and government departments focused on children in contact with the law.

The AYJ has grown in strength and its reputation for promoting improved outcomes based on sound evidence and influencing policy makers is evident. Pippa developed several key partnerships during her time working at the AYJ, notably with Agenda Alliance for work focused on girls and women, and Leaders Unlocked in developing the Young Advocates for Youth Justice. She also developed strong relationships with existing and new funders, helping to bring sustainability to the AYJ. We are sad to see Pippa go, but she has left us in a much better position, having achieved charitable status for the AYJ amongst other things, before her departure. We extend our thanks to Pippa for her excellent leadership and wish her all the best in her new role.

We very much look forward to welcoming our new Chief Executive, Jess Mullen, who joins us in May. We are confident that she will lead the AYJ further forward through our next phase of development.

Pippa will join AYJ member the Children's Society as their Director of Youth Impact, Policy and Research later this month.
